CAIRO - 7 December 2017:Pep Guardiola`s Manchester City failed to achieve the 20th consecutive victory after they were defeated for the first time this season by Shakhtar Donetsk 1-2 in the last round of the UEFA Champions League. It is the City`s first defeat in 227 days in all the competitions.

Guardiola refreshed the starting lineup with only three players, giving a chance to the two youngsters Adarabioyo and Phil Foden who played for the first time in the UEFA Champions League.

Paulo Fonseca, coach of Shakhtar Donetsk, proved on Wednesday that he is a man of his word. The Portuguese coach, after his team won 2-1 against Manchester City, turned up at the press conference dressed as Zorro and fulfilled a promise he gave recently.

"This is the funniest press conference I've given in my entire life, everyone laughs and is happy," said Fonseca, wearing the hat and mask like the character created in 1919 by Johnston McCulley.

Fonseca had declared after the match against Manchester City, leader of the Premier League and the Champions League group stage, that if they beat Pep Guardiola's team and qualified to the knockout phase, he would dress up as Zorro.

"If we go to the second round, I disguise myself as Zorro, I know they do not believe me, but this can happen," Fonseca said. On Wednesday after the game, he fulfilled his promise.

Shakhtar qualified second in Group F, behind Manchester City. On Monday December 11, the team will be in the draw for the knockout stages of the Champions League. The Ukrainians are one of the teams that could be paired with FC Barcelona.
