Soccer, Egyptian Premier League, 6-12-2017, Al Ahly players celebrate scoring against Alassiouty - Egypt Today/Ahmed Maarouf

CAIRO – 7 December 2017: Al-Ahly defeated Alassiouty Sport 1-0 on Wednesday at the Egyptian Premier League to continue their amazing run in the league.

Al-Ahly started the game with a massive attacking line of Walid Azarro, Junior Ajayi and Moamen Zakaria, along with Abdallah El Said, who created many chances to open the scoring for his teammates, although they found a tough defensive line from their opponents.

Al-Ahly manager Hossam El Badry had to make his first substitute after only 30 minutes when Mohamed Naguib replaced the injured Saad Samir.

Al-Ahly created many chances to score before the half time, but veteran Alassiouty defender Hamada Tolba led his teammates to a goalless draw in the first half.

Al-Ahly started the second half well and Abdallah El Said was able to dribble past three Alassiouty defenders to score Al-Ahly’s only goal in the game after only seven minutes.

The game’s referee, Gehad Grisha, disallowed Ajayi’s goal and whistled a foul, which caused many demonstrations from Al-Ahly players.

Al-Ahly succeeded to keep Alassiouty strikers out of their area to end the game 1-0.

Al-Ahly reached 25 points to rise up to the second place, only two points behind the leaders, Ismaily, but with three less games.
