CAIRO – 6 December 2017: Bayern Munich former Captain, Lothar Matthäus, advised Bayern Munich goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, not to rush back from injury.

“He should give himself the necessary time, if something else happens, not only the World Cup will be over for him, but his career will be in danger. The only thing which counts is zero risk!" Matthäus told TZ on Wednesday.
Manuel Neuer has not played a single game this season with Bayern Munich after he suffered from a foot injury in September.

Bayern Munich former goalkeeper, Oliver Kahn recalled the time he was injured, “In 1994, I had a severe injury with a cruciate ligament tear and also wanted to play again very early; I see a certain parallel here, as he also wants to return from injury very early.”

Neuer has to worry about his position in the Germany national team, as the Barcelona German goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen has had a great season so far and could be chosen as the German goalkeeper for the World Cup over Neuer.
