CAIRO – 3 December 2017: Franck Ribery, 34, became the foreign player who has played most of Bundesliga matches with Bayern in its history.

With yesterday's game against Hannover, the Frenchman has played 235 games with the German team since he signed in 2007 after being very close to teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Ribéry, who reappeared from a knee injury, exceeds in the ranking the current sporting director of Bayern, the Bosnian Hasan Salihamidzic. But he is two games away from reaching Salihamidzic’s number in all competitions, with 363 appearances.

Ribery won seven Bundesliga titles, five DFB-Pokal cups, three German Super cups, the 2013 Champions league, the 2013 UEFA Super Cup and the 2013 FIFA Club World Cup.

Year 2013 was the best year in Ribery’s career when he and his team won the UEFA Champions League, the Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. That year he also won the French Player of the Year award and came third for the FIFA Ballon d’Or.
