CAIRO – 2 November 2017: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was so happy with his Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah after he led Liverpool to defeat Maribor 3-0 in the UEFA Champions League.

“He is a very offensive midfielder, if not a striker. He likes these situations. He used his speed even in the small space, coming in behind,” Klopp told press after the game.

Liverpool failed to score in the first half, but in the second half, Salah opened the scoring after four minutes, opening the door for Liverpool to win 3-0.

Klopp spoke about the goalless first half, saying, “It was not the most exciting football. It was very difficult. We knew that they would play like this; anything else would have been a big surprise. The box was full of people in a Maribor kit, and we didn’t come through in the right way; we didn’t take shots when we could have taken them.”

Liverpool tops Group E with eight points, one point ahead of the second place team, Sevilla. Both teams will play each other in the next round in Spain to decide the leader of the group.
