CAIRO – 30 October 2017: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola rejected on Saturday remarks by his Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp, stating that the Premier League leader, Manchester City, could be crowned champion in January.

"It is unreal," declared the Spaniard after the citizens' victory against West Bromwich (2-3); "I am not going to be a champion in January,” Guardiola reacted to the words of Klopp broadcast on Saturday morning.

"You cannot always win for five or six months. That is not realistic, so high-level football does not work," he added after his team's ninth win in 10 matches.

Guardiola's players lead the best start of the Premier after ten rounds, with 28 points from 30 possible; equalizing with both Chelsea in 2005 and City in 2011, two teams that finished as champions.

Manchester City have five points ahead of their immediate pursuer on the board, Manchester United of Jose Mourinho.
