CAIRO – 27 October 2017: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp defended on Friday Liverpool’s defender Dejan Lovren after being criticized for his mistakes in the team’s 4-1 loss against Tottenham.

“We had a normal week and of course it was not the nicest week of Dejan's life, but at the end, it's only football. If I think about Dejan, I have as much or more positive than I can think of negative things,” Klopp told press.

Klopp had to substitute Lovren after 31 minutes in the Tottenham game, when Tottenham was leading the game 2-1, as the player failed to defend against Tottenham’s strikers Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Klopp added, “He is a player of Liverpool and that is how I treat him, as a member of this family. It's clear that I help him if I have to help him."

Liverpool faces Huddersfield Town on Saturday in the Premier League. Liverpool has 13 points, while Huddersfield has 12 points.
