CAIRO – 20 October 2017: Wolfsburg coach, Martin Schmidt, set new rules in the team to improve the players’ performance and improve the team results.

Schmidt asked his players to wash their teeth immediately after the training sessions.

“At the end of the training, acidity is created inside of the mouth; this attacks the gums and ends directly in the blood, so brushing the teeth helps to recover energy better and prevent acidity,” Schmidt told press on Friday.

Schmidt added, “Therefore, players are required to brush their teeth immediately after the end of their physical effort, even before returning home."

Schmidt, born in Switzerland, started managing Wolfsburg in 2017 after he managed Mainz for two years.

Wolfsburg managed to collect only 8 points after eight games, placing 14th in the German League, Bundesliga.

Wolfsburg hosts Hoffenheim on Sunday at Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg. Schmidt hopes that his new role will make a difference to be able to win the game.
