CAIRO – 13 October 2017: Junior Ajayi scored as Al Ahly defeated Ittihad 2-0 on Thursday in the fifth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Al Ahly started the game with a fierce determination to take an early lead. In the 6th minute, Ajayi crossed to Ahmed Hamoudi, but Ittihad’s defenders managed to clear the ball.

Al Ahly pressure paid off one minute before the half-time, as Ajayi gave the Red Devils the lead after finishing the ball in the back of the net from a close range.

In the 79th minute, Hussein El-Sayed doubled Al Ahly’s lead, as his powerful shot hit the back of Ittihad’s net to seal the victory for the Red Castle.

To rub salt on the wound, Ittihad’s Hesham Shehata was given a red card in the additional time after a violent conduct against Walid Soliman.

Following the win, Al Ahly occupies the 13th spot in the league with four points from just two games, while Ittihad of Alexandria sits in ninth place with six points from five games.
