CAIRO – 10 October 2017: Brazilian winger, Neymar Jr Da Silva revealed his happiness after Lionel Messi led Argentina to qualify to 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“I'm happy for him, I'm happy to see a friend participate in such an important competition.” Neymar told press after Brazil defeated Chile 3-0 and eliminated Chile from 2018 World Cup.

Neymar added, “I also have friends in the Chile team but we're men. We have to play to win every game."

Messi scored three goals to lead Argentina to the World Cup after beating Ecuador 3-1 on Wednesday.

He and his teammates were in a difficult position before Ecuador game and they needed to win to secure a place in the World Cup.

Neymar and Messi shared Barcelona dressing room for 4 years from 2013 to 2017 before the Brazilian transfered to Paris Saint Germain this summer.

Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Colombia qualified to 2018 World Cup, while Peru qualified to Inter-confederation play-offs against New Zeeland.
