CAIRO – 01 October 2017: Al-Ahly lost 1-2 to Tunsian club Etoile du Sahel in the first leg of CAF Champions League semi-finals on Sunday evening at Stade Olympique de Sousse in Tunisia. Al-Ahly hoped to return from this stadium with a victory or a draw to make their job easier back in Cairo.

Etoile du Sahel started the match pressing Al-Ahly back line by the advantage of more than 20 thousand fans in the stadium.

Alaya Brigui took the lead at the 16th minute for the Tunisian club after he controlled a cross from the right side and blew a fabulous shot in Sherif Ekramy`s, Al-Ahly goalkeeper’s net.

Al-Ahly refused to give up to this score and entered the game with the power of his players, Abdullah El Saied and Walid Soliman. Saleh Gomaa leveled the score in the 66th minute after he cut the ball from the Tunisian defender and put it inside Aymen Mathlouthi`s, Etoile`s goalkeeper’s net.

When all thought that the match will end with this score, Mohamed Amine Ben Amor surprised Ekramy by a brilliant shot from outside the box to make it 2-1.

Al-Ahly needs to win with any score back in Cairo in the second leg after approximately 3 weeks from now, which will be determined later by CAF.
