CAIRO – 27 September 2017: In their second match, Real Madrid secured a valuable three points in a 3-1 victory in the Champions League in Signal Iduna Park, Germany.

It is the first time in history for Real Madrid to win in the Signal Iduna Park as both sides played six matches before. It ended with three draws and three losses for the Spanish giants.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s double with Gareth Bale’s amazing shot put Madrid the top of the group. In his 400th appearance, Ronaldo with Real Madrid has now scored 24 goals in 20 games against their German rival in the Champions League.

So far, so good for Madrid, who succeeded to take the first half from Borussia, thanks to a solid performance. Dortmund have pushed hard and played some lovely football, but they've left themselves incredibly open on several occasions, allowing their opponents to take advantage of their defensive frailties with excellent counter-attacks.

That certainly was an excellent contest between two absolutely thrilling sides, and it is one that is gone Madrid's way, thanks to a brilliant performance from the reigning European champions. They set themselves up perfectly and constantly caused problems for Dortmund, who left themselves exposed at the back as a result of their incredibly high defensive line.

Gareth Bale scored the first goal in the 18th minute for Madrid after Carvajal’s cross inside the box, which Bale intercepted, placing the ball into the top right-hand corner of the net.

The second half started, and Madrid doubled their lead by Ronaldo shot the ball in the 50th minute, past Burki, Borussia`s goalkeeper.

Dortmund responded quickly by a beautiful goal in the 58th minute, refusing to make it easy for Madrid. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Dortmund’s attacker, received a cross from Castro and put it Madrid`s goal. Aubameyang has now scored in each of his last three games against Real Madrid.

Ronaldo killed it by scoring the third goal for Madrid in the 79th minute.
