CAIRO – 7 September 2017: Brazilian legend, Ronaldinho Gaucho, calmed Liverpool fans on Wednesday about Philippe Coutinho’s situation after Liverpool refused to sell the star to Barcelona this summer.

“This season, Liverpool will see him give everything for the club -- that is the sort of player he is. Also, no player is going to refuse to play when it's the World Cup at the end of the season,” Gaucho told Daily Mirror.

Coutinho, 25, refused to participate with Liverpool in their first three games in the Premier League to pressure the club into selling him to Barcelona. In the end, Liverpool kept the Brazilian player inside their squad.

Gaucho believes Coutinho will play at Barcelona one day. “I am sure [Coutinho] will still get that chance; they made it clear how much they wanted him and I am sure that they will come back for him," Gaucho said.

Gaucho played with Barcelona for five years from 2003 to 2008. During this time, he won two Spanish League titles and the 2006 Champions League title.
