CAIRO – 27 August 2017: Shahd al-Hosseiny, Egyptian Taekwondo player, qualified to the semifinals on August 24 in the third World Taekwondo Cadet Championship held in Egypt.

Shahd managed to qualify on Thursday to the semi-finals of the tournament after defeating Lithuanian champion Yung-Li Liu with a score of 22-7.

On a similar note, Egypt's Taekwondo player Omar Salem was able to qualify to the quarterfinals of the same tournament in the early hours of Thursday. Salem qualified to the quarterfinals after beating Finland's champion with a score of 30-20. Salem is expected to play against the winner between the champion of Iceland and Ukraine in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt hosts the third World Taekwondo Cadet Championship from August 24 to August 27.
