24 August 2017:Portuguese manager Manuel Jose praised Egyptian players’ talent on Wednesday during his presentation as the new Wadi Degla Youth Academy manager.

“It is always a pleasure and happiness to be here in Egypt. Egyptian players have extraordinary talent,” Jose told reporters during his presentation.

Jose has a new strategy to develop Wadi Degla’s academy, as the club wants to depend on its academy products in the next few years.

Many former Al Ahly players who played under Manuel Jose attended Jose’s presentation, including Wael Riyad, Eslam El Shater, Reda Shehata, Ahmed Abo Mosalam, Mahmoud Shiko and Mohamed Sedik.

Jose spoke about Egypt’s current football situation, saying, “Fans should return to the stadium; this will affect the young players’ performance.”

Manuel Jose coached Al Ahly in three spells, having made history with the Egyptian giants. He won six Egyptian League titles, including five consecutive titles, and he also won the CAF Champions League four times, in 2001, 2005, 2006 and 2008.
