CAIRO – 14 August 2017: Barcelona will announce on Monday officially the signing of the Brazilian Paulinho Bezerra, in a move from Guangzhou Evergrande, the Chinese team.

The Spanish club Barcelona officially announced on its website that they have reached an agreement for the transfer of Bezerra for €40 million ($47 million) coming from the Chinese club, Guangzhou Evergrande.

The club said the deal was worth €40 million ($47 million) and that the penalty clause in the player's contract with Barcelona will be €120 million.

The club also announced that Bezerra will take the medical examination on Thursday, before signing contracts for joining the team and formally presenting his move to the media and the public later the same day.

Bezerra was one of the most important players in the Brazilian team, Corinthians, which he joined in 2010 in a loan transfer before the team bought him in 2012 in a free transfer deal. Coming from Coimbra, the 29-year-old midfielder achieved with Corinthians the FIFA Club World Cup of 2013, the Brazilian premier league in 2011 and the Copa Libertadores in the season of 2011/2012.

He also achieved with Guangzhou two Chinese league titles, two Chinese Super Cups, a single Chine cup title and AFC Champions League in 2014/2015 season.
