9 August 2017:Juan Mata, Spanish Manchester United attacking midfielder, feels he is important in the Manchester United squad and is ready for new season challenges.

“I really feel important. I am one of the oldest players in the team. I can help the team with my experience; I think Mourinho sees that,” Mata spoke to BT Sports.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has a good relationship with the Spaniard at Manchester, despite Mourinho having kicked Mata off the Chelsea team when he was the manager there.

Jose Mourinho signed Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelöf and Nemanja Matic to help the team in new season challenges.

Mata spoke about Manchester United’s new signings, saying, “ I think we added quality to the team, like Lukaku and Lindelof. I think we are now a more balanced team; we also added a complete midfielder like Matic.”

Manchester United lost their first official match in the new season against Real Madrid in the European Super Cup on Tuesday.
