Cairo, 09 June 2026: Egypt’s national football team continues its daily training camp at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, as part of preparations for its opening FIFA World Cup group-stage match against Belgium, scheduled for next Monday.
The team arrived in Spokane after a journey of more than four and a half hours, covering over 3,200 kilometers across the United States.
Egypt will remain in Spokane for six days, training daily before traveling to Seattle on June 13 in preparation for the Belgium match on June 15.

Egyptian Football Association President Hany Abo Rida and Secretary-General Dr. Mostafa Azzam are set to join the delegation in Washington to attend FIFA meetings ahead of the tournament.
The national team began its World Cup preparations on May 30 with a training camp in Cleveland, Ohio, which concluded with a high-profile friendly match against Brazil.

Egypt has announced a 26-player squad for the tournament, featuring key names including Mohamed El Shenawy, Mohamed Hany, Ahmed Sayed “Zizo,” Emam Ashour, Mahmoud Trezeguet, Omar Marmoush, and captain Mohamed Salah.
Egypt will compete in Group G alongside Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand in the expanded FIFA World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico with 48 teams participating for the first time in history.

Throughout the group stage, the Egyptian delegation will face a demanding travel schedule, moving between Spokane, Seattle, and Vancouver for matches and preparations.
Estimates suggest the team will travel nearly 10,000 kilometers and spend over 20 hours in direct flights during the group phase alone, with total travel and movement time expected to exceed 40 hours.
These logistical challenges extend beyond the players to the coaching, medical, and administrative staff, who are working continuously to ensure smooth travel arrangements, accommodation, training facilities, medical support, and daily operational planning for the team.
