CAIRO, February 1st, 2026: Hamza Abdelkarim, one of Al Ahly’s most promising young talents, has arrived in Barcelona to finalize his move to the Spanish giants during the winter transfer window.

The 18-year-old forward documented his arrival in Spain through a video posted on his Facebook account, as preparations continue for the official completion of the transfer.

Abdelkarim had signed all contractual documents on Friday, including a one-season extension with Al Ahly, before flying to Barcelona on Saturday to undergo medical examinations ahead of the official announcement.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the player will join Barcelona’s reserve team until June, with the buy option increased to €1.5 million. The agreement also includes performance-based bonuses that could raise the total value to €5 million, along with an improved future resale clause of 15%.

The young forward has stood out with Egypt’s youth national team, making 19 appearances and contributing directly to 18 goals by scoring 12 times and setting up 6 more.

The loan move of Hamza Abdelkarim from Al Ahly to Barcelona is a smart step for both clubs. For Barcelona, signing an 18-year-old striker with clear talent fits perfectly with their long-term plan of building young players. Starting with Barcelona B gives Hamza the time and space to adapt, while the buy option allows the club to invest with low risk and high potential reward.

For Al Ahly, the deal shows the strength of the club’s academy and its ability to produce top-level talent. Allowing a young player to move directly to a club as big as Barcelona boosts Al Ahly’s international image and opens the door for financial gains, whether through a permanent transfer or by welcoming back a more experienced and valuable player.

In the end, this transfer is not just about one player. It is a well-planned deal that serves the ambitions of Barcelona, supports Al Ahly’s long-term vision, and benefits the future of Egyptian football.
