Egypt announce 2025 AFCON squad under Hossam Hassan, featuring key returns

CAIRO,  2 December 2025: The Egyptian national team, led by head coach Hossam Hassan, has officially revealed its squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations set to take place in Morocco.

The announcement included notable returns, with Emam Ashour of Al Ahly and Mostafa Fathi of Pyramids FC restored to the squad after recovering from recent injuries—providing a significant boost to Egypt’s midfield and attacking depth.

Team manager Ibrahim Hassan confirmed that the final list will be formally submitted to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on December 11, in accordance with tournament regulations.

Egypt will kick off its AFCON journey on December 22 against Zimbabwe, before facing South Africa on December 26. The Pharaohs will conclude their Group Stage campaign with a decisive fixture against Angola on December 29.

Defenders:
