CAIRO, 13 October 2025: Egypt's national football team, led by coach Hossam Hassan, has officially qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after finishing the African qualifiers undefeated. They topped Group A with 26 points from 10 matches (8 wins, 2 draws) and ended their campaign with a 1–0 victory over Guinea-Bissau.
In post-match remarks, Hossam Hassan expressed pride in the team’s achievement and highlighted their key goals: making the fans happy and boosting Egypt’s global ranking ahead of the World Cup draw in December. He praised the players for their commitment and applauded the effort to reduce the team’s average age to 25.

He spoke warmly about team captain Mohamed Salah, calling him "both a younger brother and an older son," and dismissed rumors of any tension between them, describing Salah as professional and respectful.

Looking ahead, Hassan affirmed Egypt’s ambition to win the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), stating it would be a crucial step in preparing for the World Cup.
Despite injuries and player absences during the last international break, he commended the team’s resilience and unity.

This marks Egypt’s fourth World Cup appearance, and Hossam Hassan personally celebrated qualifying both as a former player and now as head coach. The World Cup draw will take place on December 5, 2025, in Washington, D.C., featuring an expanded format of 48 teams.
