In front of 50,000 fans of Al Ahly, the Red Eagles will face Al Hilal of Sudan in the last round of the CAF Champions League group stage with the two sides battling for a spot in the quarter-finals alongside the group leader, Mamelodi Sundowns.

Al Ahly, the 10-time record champions of Africa, know that nothing but victory could send them to the quarter-finals and avoid early elimination from the competition.

The Sudanese side are second in the group with 10 points, three points ahead of Al Ahly and they look to escape a defeat in Cairo to continue their journey in the Champions League.

"It is a very important match. We are well prepared and the players will fight to book a place in the quarter-finals." Marcel Koller, Al Ahly manager, stated in the pre-game press conference.

The omens for the Red Eagles' progress to the quarter-finals are good given you have to go back nearly 19 years for the last time the Sudanese team achieved a victory over Al Ahly in Cairo.

Al Ahly's expected line-up: Mohamed El Shenawy, Mohamed Hany, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Ramy Rabia, Ali Maaloul, Hamdy Fathy, Amr El Soulia, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Percy Tau, Ahmed Abdelkader and Mahmoud Kahraba.
