Egypt handball national team clinches the second African title in a row and the Eighth title in history

CAIRO, 18 July 2022: The Egyptian handball team won the African Nations Cup for Handball for the eighth time in its history, by defeating Cape Verde with a score of 37/25 at the end of the 25th edition, which was held in Cairo and among Egyptian fans at Hassan Mostafa Hall on the 6th of October.
 
The first half ended with a score of 24/12 in favor of the Pharaohs, in a half that witnessed the brilliance of both players, the brilliant goalkeeper Karim Hendawy, who saved the balls for the opponent, and with him the duo Akram Yousry and Omar Al-Wakeel Bakkar amid an organized offensive focus.
 
While the second half witnessed the continued brilliance of the Pharaohs in attack, amid attempts by Cape Verde to reduce the difference in points.
 
Egypt's handball team succeeded in qualifying for the final of the African Nations Cup after defeating Tunisia with a score of 29/27 in the semi-finals of the tournament.
 
The Pharaohs team was able to make the fans happy at home after the failure of winning the gold medal in the Mediterranean Games in Algeria, and contenting itself with winning the silver by losing from Spain in the final by a single goal difference of 28/27.
 
Egypt achieved the largest victory in the history of the African Nations Handball Finals, 12 goals behind Cape Verde.
 
Parrondo Garcia, the technical coach of the Pharaohs in this tournament, included a list of 22 players, where the tournament list allows the selection of 18 players while allowing the replacement of 5 players.
