2022 Mediterranean Games: Egypt won two more silver medals in Karate

CAIRO, 27 June 2022: The Egyptian delegation won two silver medals in karate at the 2022 Mediterranean Games held in Algeria.
 
Reem Ahmed Salama won the first silver medal for Egypt in the 2022 Mediterranean Games in karate under 50 kg.
 
Reem lost to Algeria's Celia Wikan in the final 5-0 to take second place and win the silver medal.
 
Reem had defeated Moroccan Shaima Al-Haiti in the quarter-finals, before defeating Turkey's Serap Araboglu in the semi-finals.
 
Ahlam Hamdi won the second silver medal after losing in the 55 kg final to Algerian Louisa Bourich, 4-1.
 
Ahlam reached the final after defeating Turkey's Tugpan Yakan 8-0 in the semi-finals.
 
Egypt's balance rose so far to four medals in the session, all of them from karate, with two silver and two bronze.
 
Amr Alaa, a karate player, won the bronze medal in the under-60 kg competition.
 
While Ahmed Ayman Lotfy won bronze in the under-76 kg competitions after his opponent withdrew
 
The Algerian city of Wahran will host the Mediterranean Games from 25 June to 5 July.
 
The Egyptian delegation is participating in the Mediterranean Games, with 177 male and female players, 114 male and female, and 63 female.
 
Egypt will participate in the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games, to be held in Oran, in athletics, badminton, 3x3 basketball, boxing, weapons, gymnastics, handball, karate, archery, tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, archery, judo, sailing, table tennis, weightlifting, wrestling and equestrian.
 
The Swimming Federation apologized for not participating in the World Championships in Hungary, as well as the cycling and football federations.
