CAIRO – 15 July 2017: The Italian football club Roma has set a substantial €29 million ($33 million) for Leicester City winger, Riyad Mahrez.

The French-born winger made his international debut for the Algerian national team back in 2014 and presented them at the FIFA World Cup of that same year. Since he started playing for Leicester City, he's been greatly successful and the team is reluctant to let him go without a significant sum, owing to how well Riyad performs.

According to Daily Mail, Roma has been seeking a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who was a vital part of the squad, and they see Riyad as that exact replacement. On the other hand, Leicester city will not let Riyad, a player who has had a great role in the team's success, go for less than €50 million.

Roma has not been alone with their eyes set on Riyad either. Arsenal and Liverpool have also seriously considered him as a valid choice, but changed their minds due to the valuation Leicester set for their winger.

In the meanwhile, Roma has also been considering Samir Nasri, Manchester City's winger, as a secondary option besides Riyad.

In the meanwhile, Frederik Nielsen, a Leicester City trialist, scored for their under-23s. It was a win for them, making their first pre-season friendly a victory.
