CAIRO – 13 July 2017: Al-Ahly succeeded in beating Wadi Degla 4-1 on Wednesday to secure its qualification to the Egyptian Cup semi-final. Al-Ahly wants to achieve the double this year, after winning the Egyptian League.

Wadi Degla scored the first goal, by Mohamed Anwar, after Al-Ahly defense’s mistake to clear the ball out of the area.

Bassem Ali, Al-Ahly right back, and Saleh Gomaa, Al-Ahly attacking midfielder, were Al-Ahly’s keys to score the first and the second goal. Bassem Ali got two penalties after getting tackled, and Saleh Gomaa put the two penalties in the net.

Despite Al-Ahly resting many important players, like Ahmed Fathi, Sherif Ekramy and Ali Maaloul, Al-Ahly players dominated the game.

Moomen Zakaria scored the third goal, and Emad Motaeb scored the fourth goal after a selfless pass from Hossam Ghaly.

Al-Ahly awaits the winner from Smouha and Misr el-Makasa to play against in the semi-final.
