CAIRO-21 February 2022: Mohamed El Shenawy, Al Ahly’s goalkeeper, is named in Al Ahly’s squad for Tuesday's match against Misr Lel Makkasa in the Egyptian League.

The Red Devils announced that their captain is fit to be back to action after missing the team’s games during the last month for injury.

El Shenawy was injured during Egypt’s win over Ivory Coast in the AFCON round of 16, missing the Pharaohs’ campaign to the final and he was also out of Al Ahly’s squad in the FIFA Club World Cup in the UAE.

On the other hand, the team’s defenders, Ali Maaloul, Mohamed Abdelmonem and Ayman Ashraf, are ruled out of the game for injury.

Al Ahly will play their first match in the league since the draw against Future FC on 26 December as the league was paused due to the national team’s participation in the AFCON.

The Red Devils are second in the standings with 19 points, one point behind the leaders, Pyramids FC, who played one game more.
