CAIRO-14 October 2021: Al Ahly manager Pitso Mosimane announced the team's squad for the trip to Niger, where the Red Devils will start their journey in the new CAF Champions League campaign against Union Sportive Gendarmerie Nationale (USGN). 
 
The Red Devils will go to Niger without several key players like Mohamed El Shenawy, Hussein El Shahat, Salah Mohsen and Mohamed Magdy Afsha. 
 
El Shenawy, El Shahat and Mohsen missed the trip due to injury while Afsha was ruled out as the fixture clashes with his wedding day according to the club's official website. 
 
Al Ahly's Squad for Niger's trip: 
 
Goalkeepers:
Ali Lotfy, Mostafa Shobier, Hamza Alaa
 
Defenders:
Ramy Rabia, Badr Benoun, Yasser Ibrahim, Ayman Ashraf, Ali Maaloul, Mohamed Hany, Akram Tawfik
 
Midfielders:
Aliou Dieng, Hamdy Fathy, Amr El Soulia, Ahmed Nabil Koka, Mohamed Mahmoud
 
Strikers:
Mohamed Sherif, Kahraba, Walid Soliman, Taher Mohamed Taher
 
Mosimane will not be able to count on his new signings in the first round of the competition but they will be available from the group stage. 
 
"I am very excited that our journey towards achieving the 3rd CAF Champions League title in a row starts on Saturday in Niger. We are focused on the prize ahead and ready to once again conquer the Champions League tournament." Mosimane tweeted. 
 
The first leg is scheduled on Saturday afternoon while the second leg will be played a week later in Cairo.
