Al Ahly return to league action without six olympic team players

CAIRO-22 July 2021: After achieving the CAF Champions League title last Saturday, the Red Devils have no time to rest and they will start their return to the Egyptian League against National Bank SC. 
 
On Thursday night at Al Ahly Stadium, Pitso Mosimane and his men hope to add another three points to their tally of 51 points and close the gap with league leaders Zamalek at the top. 
 
The Red Devils' games in the league were postponed due to their participation in the CAF Champions League competition and they played four games less than Zamalek. 
 
Pitso Mosimane's men will miss six players who joined the U-23 national team that will participate in the Olympic Games in Tokyo. 
 
Al Ahly will miss their starting goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy as well as five outfield players; Ahmed Ramadan Beckham, Salah Mohsen, Nasser Maher, Taher Mohamed Taher and Akram Tawfik. 
 
Al Ahly will also miss Hussein El Shahat, who picked up an injury in the CAF Champions League final and will be sidelined for the next 10 days, according to the club's official website. 
 
Al Ahly fans count on the experience of their players to overcome the situation and achieve the three points of the game against a tough opponent, who were able to achieve a draw against Al Ahly in their game in the first half of the season. 
 
Al Ahly's squad for the game consists of: 
Ali Lotfy, Mostafa Shobier, Hamza Alaa, Mohamed Hany, Ali Maaloul, Yasser Ibrahim, Badr Benoun, Ayman Ashraf, Mahmoud Wahid, Saad Samir, Ahmed Nabil Koka, Ramy Rabia, Mahmoud Metwally, Mahmoud Kahraba, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Amr El Soulia, Hamdy Fathy, Aliou Dieng, Junior Ajayi, Walter Bwalya, Mohamed Sherif and Marwan Mohsen.
