Cairo-15 July 2021: Egypt U-23 national team star Ramadan Sobhy believes that the team could survive the tough Group in the Olympic Games in Tokyo, which includes Spain, Argentina and Australia.

"We have been working for this for the last three years and we are ready. It is different than the U-23 AFCON that we won at home. It is a tough group but we are confident." Ramadan told press on Wednesday.

The winger put on a fantastic performance in the U-23 AFCON in 2019, having led the team to win the competition and secure a place in the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The Pharaohs will start their mission against  Spain on 22 July before facing Argentina three days later. Egypt's last group stage game will be played on 28 July against Australia.

Ramadan spoke about the team's opening game in the Olympics, saying "Spain have a very good team and six of their players participated with the senior team in the European competition. We know that it will be a difficult game but I believe in the team and I am sure that we can fight against them."

The Olympic Games in Tokyo will see the 12th appearance for the Egyptian football at the competition and the Pharaohs aim to secure a medal at the competition for the first time in the history.
