CAIRO-19 June 2021: Al Ahly achieved an important win in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi-final at Hammadi Agrebi Stadium in Rades. The Red Devils are close from reaching the final with this amazing result in Tunisia.

Al Ahly defeated Esperance 1-0 thanks to a goal from Mohamed Sherif, securing Al Ahly’s fifth win over Esperance away from home.

The game was delayed for one hour as clashes erupted in the stadium between the fans and the Tunisian police, who fired gas bombs to control the riots.

Al Ahly had the upper hand in the game and put on a great display in front of 10k Tunisian fans.

Al Ahly players will head into the second leg with a slight advantage but for sure they took a huge step towards securing a spot in the final for the second straight season.

Mohamed Sherif scored Al Ahly’s winning goal in the game after receiving a fantastic pass from Aliou Dieng. Sherif shot the ball but it rebounded from the post in front of him and he put the ball in the empty net to give Al Ahly a 1-0 victory.
