File - Al Ittihad have a 2-0 lead over Al Ahly
CAIRO-10 June 2021: Al Ittihad of Alexandria will face Al Ahly on Thursday in Game 3 of the Egyptian Basketball League semi-finals series.
The giants of Alexandria are going to Monday's meeting with a great advantage as they managed to secure a 2-0 lead in the first two games and they need one victory from the next three games to reach the final.
Al Ittihad aim to complete the domestic double for the second season in a row after defeating Al Ahly in the Egyptian Cup final in April.
Al Ahly's new head coach Mário Palma hopes to stop the team's poor run after losing the first two games. Al Ahly played a great defensive game but they were not sharp and efficient in their attacks.
On the other hand, Basketball Africa League (BAL) champions Zamalek will face Gezira SC in Game 2 of the other semi-final.
Zamalek won Game 1 after being behind most of the game but they took the lead in the last five minutes of the game, securing an important win to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
