CAIRO – 1 November 2019: Mohamed Hussein was announced to be the first Egyptian handicapped child to climb Jebel Musa in South Sinai as part of Egypt’s Environment Ministry's strategy to support the environment and promote tourism.

According to a Thursday statement, the climbing took place under the auspices of Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad and comes as an invitation to the whole world to visit Sinai and enjoy its spectacular nature.

Fouad said that she is proud of this event as it represents an actual step towards integrating Egypt’s handicapped in environmental activities. As part of this event, Fouad met on October 18 with Mazen Hamza, the First Egyptian handicapped mountain climber.

Fouad discussed with Hamza all the security procedures needed to guarantee the safety of Hussein during his adventure. The ministry affirmed in its statement that they are working on a strategy that aims at developing human capabilities and skills through nature.
