CAIRO - 30 July 2019: The Ministry of Civil Aviation inaugurated on Tuesday Terminal 2 at Hurghada International Airport to serve domestic and international flights with an annual capacity of 7.5 million passengers.

The terminal includes a four-kilometer runway that is parallel to that of the first terminal. Terminal 2 has three floors, and a total area of 90,000 square kilometers. The terminal consists of 11 tubes, and nine gates.

The new terminal has 72 check-in counters, 18 passport control counters for departing passengers, and 16 passport control counters for arriving passengers. That is in addition to six and nine baggage carousels that serve departing and arriving passengers, respectively.

Moreover, the runway of the first terminal was upgraded, and the color of the buildings was unified. The development works included the entrance, the customs department, and the security system. Also, the frequency of training workshops held for the employees was increased.
