Introducing the Samsung Galaxy 6 and Samsung Galaxy 6 Edge
By Kaylan Geiger Surrounded by the grandiose and greenery of the recently re-opened Manial Palace, Samsung couldn’t have chosen a more exquisite and fitting venue for the launch of its Samsung Galaxy 6 and Samsung Galaxy 6 edge on April 15. Manial Palace had been cut off from the public while it had undergone restoration and touch-ups to bring it back to top form, not too unlike Samsung’s newest smart phones, which promise to be the best on the market. “This is a new era and the next level of technology and I see it as a piece of art, both as a user and professional working with Samsung,” says Tamer El-Gamal, head of sales for Samsung Electronics Egypt. “The technology used in this device makes it easier to use, whereas most companies are building smart phones and enhancing features by making them more complicated.”Surrounded by the grandiose and greenery of the recently re-opened Manial Palace, Samsung couldn’t have chosen a more exquisite and fitting venue for the launch of its Samsung Galaxy 6 and Samsung Galaxy 6 edge on April 15. Manial Palace had been cut off from the public while it had undergone restoration and touch-ups to bring it back to top form, not too unlike Samsung’s newest smart phones, which promise to be the best on the market. In an age where everyone is competing to put out the best new technology, Samsung wanted its new models to do that without overcomplicating personal devices. Both the Samsung Galaxy 6 and Samsung Galaxy 6 edge promise to be more user friendly and include enhanced features. “Samsung figured out that we need to go back to basics, so they developed a future technology and put it in our hands with the Samsung Galaxy 6 and Samsung Galaxy 6 edge,” says El-Gamal. “The interface is very easy and not overly sophisticated, but you still have more options and more features that make your life easier. This is the beauty of the device.” El-Gamal promises that the device will not leave customers disappointed. “It is elegant, smart, slim, to the point, easy access, makes tasks shorter. It is smart casual. It is a combination of things everyone loves.” The design is very different from previous models and the color options are reminiscent of gems and precious stones because that is where they take their inspiration from. “The color is inspired by gems,” says El-Gamal. “We have five colors and every color is related to a stone.” The Egyptian market will have three exquisite color options for the Samsung Galaxy 6 and Samsung Galaxy 6 edge: black, white and gold. Next month, Samsung fans will have even more options as the company plans to introduce the Samsung Galaxy 6 edge in green and the Samsung Galaxy 6 in blue. Both Samsung 6 models are full of improvements. From the new camera shortcut key to its thin and sleek design, longtime and new Samsung users will be impressed by this new toy in their pockets. To make the device slimmer, and going against the construction of its past models, Samsung has replaced the removal battery with a sealed-in battery and also removed the microSD card slot. What’s the difference between the two? The Samsung Galaxy 6 edge has a curve up on the S6 with a different design. Taking from its name, the edges of the phone are curved, which boasts a different design and a couple of added features as a result. A quick-dial tab allows you to pick five people that you frequently call and assign colors to their contact profiles. When the S6 edge is placed face down on your desk while you’re in a meeting or at the dinner table with your family, the curved edges will light up when someone is calling, and if one of those colors appears you’ll know who is trying to contact you. You can also swipe your finger back and forth along the edge to activate the information stream, and the curved edge also features an adjustable night clock option. Aside from making the interface as user friendly as possible, Samsung is taking customer satisfaction to a whole new level by making both models fast to charge. “You can charge four hours in 10 minutes,” says El-Gamal. On top of these new and improved features, Samsung has also upgraded its camera function. “Now Samsung has introduced a new technology with its camera,” says El-Gamal. “More light comes in through the lens to enhance the brightness of your photos.” “Samsung focuses on serving its customers well and introducing different products to serve the different layers of customers in Egypt,” says El-Gamal. “We want to maintain a good relationship between us and the consumers. That is our goal.”   For more information on the availability of the Samsung Galaxy 6 and Samsung Galaxy 6 edge, visitwww.samsung.com/eg/   Galaxy S6 – 5.1-inch flat panel, 2560 x 1440 pixels, Super AMOLED display   Galaxy S6 edge – 5.1-inch curved panel, 2560 x 1440 pixels, Super AMOLED display
