CAIRO - 14 September 2017: According to Popsugar Middle East, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Telecommunications and IT, Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawahah, announced on Twitter that they will lift the ban on calling apps this week.

Although Skype is widely used in Saudi Arabia, this deregulation will allow people to use the program legally and with minimal interference. WhatsApp and Viber calls are also rumored to be affected by this decision.
