  Ramadan means adapting modern living to religious duty, and sometimes that means incorporating technology into our traditions. As our addiction to smartphones grows, application developers are making sure Ramadan observers don’t miss Ahmed Mekky or an adhan. Egypt Today has rounded up some of the most useful apps for iPhone and Android that offer everything from prayer times to information on the hottest Ramadan TV series.   iPhone   athan-proAthan Pro The self-proclaimed best mobile app for adhan and prayer times, Athan Pro also provides users with the Quran, Tasbeeh, Hijri calendar and a compass to locate the Qiblah. The app also features a selection of different voices for the adhan as well as optional wallpapers of Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem. The multi-language app is compatible with iPhones and iPads and is available to download in iTunes for free. An ads-free version is available for purchase for $2.99. AthkarAthkar Athkar, which means to remember Allah through recitations, uses a simple interface to offer users daily religious reminders in the morning, evening and during travel. The application also includes a setting that allows users to set alarm clock reminders for morning and evening remembrance. The app is compatible with iPhones and iPads, is free of advertisements and available to download in iTunes for free. KhatmaKhatma Similar to Athkar, Khatma lets users read passages from the Quran in Arabic no matter their location. It also allows you to set alarm clocks as reminders for when to read the passages. The app is available to download for free in iTunes and is compatible with iPhones, iPads and iPod touch. LailaLaila Ramadan Laila Ramadan is an English-language multi-tasking app that offers several features for Ramadan observers, including prayers times, directions to nearby mosques and a Qibla locator. Along with providing sohour and iftar times, Laila Ramadan also dishes out some Ramadan recipes. The app is available to download for free in iTunes and is compatible with iPhones, iPads and iPod touch. Android FathkorouniFathkrony Fathkrony is equipped with the full Quran in Arabic, prayer times, a Qibla locator and the Hijri calendar. The app also has a feature that allows you to set reminders for prayer times and a display that counts down to the next prayer time so that users can keep track. The app is available in Arabic from Google Play and is compatible with any Android device. AthanotifyAthanotify Similar to Fathkrony, Athanotify provides users with prayer times, a Qibla locator and the Hijri calendar. The app also has three widgets that provide the option of displaying prayer times on your phone’s home screen. The app is available in Arabic and English from Google Play and is compatible with any Android device. iPhone and Android Muslim-proMuslim Pro Equipped with a prayer time application and the full Quran, Muslim Pro has a wide range of features, including a Qibla locator, Hijri calendar and a map of halal restaurants and mosques. The app and Quran are available in over a dozen languages, from French to Chinese. It is available for both iPhone and Android users for free via iTunes and Google Play. Ramadan-TimesRamadan Times Ramadan Times acts as an alarm clock for iftar and sohour, with several alarm options for alerting users about fasting times. The app comes with a Hijri calendar and a complete adhan alarm. The app is available in English and Arabic for free for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users through iTunes and Android users through Google Play. QamarDeenQamarDeen QamarDeen helps Ramadan observers track their spiritual acts in order to visualize their progress and analyze their behavior. You can record how many times you pray, how many times you’ve read the Quran and track your fasting. The app is available in English for free for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users through iTunes and Android users through Google Play. SalatukSalatuk Salatuk provides users with prayers times, directions to nearby mosques and the direction of the Qibla. The app is available in Arabic and costs $2.99 for iPhone users through iTunes and Android users through Google Play. Ramadan-3al-TV Ramadan 3al TV Curious about when your favorite Ramadan TV series is airing? Ramadan 3al TV provides users with information on 80 Ramadan serials from 30 Arabic channels.
