CAIRO –13 August 2017: Mayar Moussa is an American University in Cairo (AUC) graduate with a Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science. Moussa Studied Fashion Design outside of AUC during her senior year; she is passionate about what she is doing, and she designs her outfits all by herself from scratch. This year she launched her own brand ‘Klozet X’ on August 2.

“I have been raised in an artistic house. My grandmother used to make me a lot of dresses and outfits when I was young. My mother used to make us costumes and outfits as well. We have several vintage sewing machines at home and I even got a kid's sewing machine once for my birthday when I was young. So it runs in the family,” stated Moussa to Egypt Today.

Moussa’s first design was a kitchen apron. She made it for her mother when she was ten years old. She hand stitched the apron because her mother’s machine was too fast for her.

Moussa wanted to open her own business in fashion since middle school. “I used to tell my friends in school that I am going to reach my dream one day, and here I am,” Moussa told Egypt Today.

She started her own business in 2017 under the name of Klozet X. Her inspiration for the name of the brand was through an international fashion blogger, who has a page on social media called Nanysklozet. While the X was supposed to mean ‘anyone's Klozet,’ but then she figured out it can mean a kiss so she made the whole theme around that.

Moussa's designs are simple yet sophisticated. Klozet X is a 100 percent Egyptian brand bringing the latest casual wear trends to the market. Among the fabrics that Moussa uses in her designs a viscose and polyester.

“My long term mission is to be the biggest e-commerce fashion platform in the Middle-East, selling everything you might need related to fashion while keeping the edgy and unique designs,” Mouse added.

When asked about her favorite designers, she replied that Elie Saab, Ralph & Russo, and Paolo Sebastian, are her top favorite designers.

Moussa does not only design clothes, she also has an opinion to say about the fashion industry. "Fashion is already the second biggest polluter of the environment for all the waste it leaves behind," said Moussa. So let us not ruin the environment more than that by slaughtering animals.
