Women travelers express safety in ‘dangerous’ Egypt

CAIRO - 6 August 2017: Forbes recently published a story on the 10 most dangerous countries for women travelers, and Egypt was on top of the list. Many women travelers who have actually been to Egypt took to social media to counter that narrative.

Step feed reported the Forbes story, while Egyptian Streets reposted a 2015 opinion article written by a Dutchwoman in Egypt about safety. Below are some reactions by foreign women on Forbes, Egyptian Streets and Stepfeed, as well as a recent interview by Egypt Today on the topic.
