CAIRO – 1 August 2017: It is the birthday of the legendary fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. Thus, Egypt Today had to celebrate him through the quote of the day.

“I wish I had invented blue jeans. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity - all I hope for in my clothes,” Laurent said.

Laurent was born on August 1, 1936 and he passed away on June 1, 2008. The Algerian French fashion designer had a great impact on the fashion industry.

In 1955 after he won the award, Laurent got introduced to Christian Dior and worked for him until Dior’s death in 1957. In 1962, he set his own fashion house and his last show was in 2002.
