Life as it is already is taking a toll on everyone. Everything around us is changing and it is changing rapidly that we can barely keep up with the pace. Between work, family, and the endless things we have to fit in our days, it is only fair to feel worn out and drained. And this is a sign you need to slow down the pace a bit. For quite some time now, the slow living movement has been gaining a lot of attention and popularity as opposed to the hustle culture. We have to admit that it doesn’t happen easily to adjust to this style of living after the rushing lifestyle we’ve all led for too long. But for starters, follow these habits and take it bit by bit until you learn how to enjoy the beauty of slow living.

Don’t Rush When You Wake Up
It is something we are all guilty of doing, rolling out of bed directly to face the day. Set your alarm 10 minutes earlier to give yourself time to enjoy a relaxed slow morning with a nice breakfast, a refreshing shower, and pour yourself something to drink. Also, avoid checking your phone the first thing in the morning, you’ll automatically jump to replying to messages and emails and your day will have already started on a rushed note.

Identify What Truly Matters
Don’t pack your day with so much unnecessary stuff and instead focus on what really is important and matters. Minimize your to-do lists and think about what really deserves your time and attention and what doesn’t. Having bigger to-do lists doesn’t really mean more productivity or accomplishments. In fact, putting your focus on just two or three important things is better than scattering your focus here and there.

Enjoy the Sweetness of Doing Nothing.
'Il dolce far niente' you’ve definitely heard this quite a lot. Unfortunately, the hustle culture has taught us to feel guilty if we catch ourselves sitting around doing nothing. However, there is beauty in enjoying stillness. It is a simple pleasure that should not be confused with laziness.

Let Go of The Fear of Missing Out
Stop feeling guilty about not being at every party or every gathering. Don’t say 'yes' to plans you are not really interested in but fear what you might miss by not being there. Say yes to plans you really want to be part of and don’t feel bad for turning out a plan.
