Everyone wants to live a happy, and healthy life. However, juggling work, family, and responsibilities can make it hard to reach that goal. In trying to do the best in every aspect of our lives, we end up sacrificing our health, whether mentally or physically, and sometimes we do it for things that are not really necessary. With the fast pace of life, our habits are becoming worse as time passes by; and in our minds, it seems like the road to being healthy is full of obstacles and challenges.

The start of a healthier lifestyle doesn’t require much work if you really think about it. A small change in habits can alter your life and make it better. So, without further ado, here are a few steps to follow to embark on a journey of health and happiness.

1- Minimize Your Screen Time
As much as you love scrolling down and checking out what’s trending on Twitter, or seeing the funniest videos on TikTok, cutting down on your screen time can be helpful. Not only will you be resting your eyes, but your mind as well. Use this time to meditate, practice yoga, read a book, or just sit and enjoy the silence.

2- Eat Less Junk Food
Who doesn’t love a juicy burger and fries? We all have our moments of craving fast food. While most of us find healthy food to be bland and boring, you can make it tastier and more delicious with a little tweaking in the recipe or with the right seasoning and margination. So, you will be still eating clean without worrying about the calories while enjoying something delicious.

3- Try to Work Out on a Regular Basis
A common myth that needs to be debunked is that working out is a chore and that you need to work out for hours to be healthy and fit. The road to becoming healthy and fit doesn’t always have to be a hassle. Choose a workout that you can enjoy, easy to do, and stick to it.
A ten-minute workout or a walk can improve your health for the better.

4- Get Enough Sleep
We know how tempting to stay up late and finish all the seasons of your favorite show. But not getting enough sleep will make you stressed, tired, and unproductive. TV shows can wait, but your health needs constant improvement. Go to bed early and don’t fight the urge to sleep.

5- Stop Nicotine and Cut Down Your Caffeine Intake
In our day-to-day lives, we consume too much caffeine and nicotine. While caffeine can be great for your productivity and alertness, we cannot say the same about cigarettes. Try to minimize your caffeine intake and stop smoking cigarettes for a healthier lifestyle.
