Dugong sea mammal in Red Sea

Cairo - 16 July 2017 : An endangered sea mammal finds home at Marsa Alam, and a support group is helping it stay at peace.

Dugong watching is one of the wonders of snorkeling at Marsa Alam in the Red Sea. As a sensitive creature that must be handled carefully to avoid long term changes in its behavior and safe zone, one must get educated on how to deal with a dugong prior to snorkeling near it.

An Egyptian dugong team is providing education and support in saving the environment and short trips to visit the dugong in its natural habitat.

Although an endangered species, it found peace on Egyptian shores.
