CAIRO – 14 July 2017: The Tourism Promotion Authority launched a campaign to promote the Egyptian tourist sites through Trip Advisor, the world’s most famous travel and tourism website, in five tourist markets; England, Italy, Germany, Sweden and Denmark, according to the Ministry of Tourism statement on Thursday.
“This campaign has started in June and it shall continue till next December,” head of the Tourism Promotion Authority Hisham al- Demiry said.
Demiry manifested that Ukraine, India and the United States would be added to the promotion campaign starting from next September, indicating that the American market is considered the highest tourist market in expenditure.
The number of the U.S. tourists increased by more than 20 percent during the first half of 2017 compared to the same period of 2016, Demiry said.
Trip Advisor website is being visited by more than 380 million people per month from all over the world. Therefore, this campaign shall promote the Egyptian tourist sites to many of the website’s visitors.
Trip Advisor selected Luxor, Hurghada and Cairo among the top 10 tourist sites in the Middle East. Moreover, Sharm el-Sheikh was selected as one of the best 10 beaches in the region.
