Petit fours lover? Here is a recipe for home made cookies ahead of Eid al-Fitr

CAIRO – 27 April 2022: By the end of the month of Ramadan, many Egyptian housewives prefer to prepare Kahk and biscuits at home instead of buying them from stores, to celebrate Eid al-Fitr (the Feast of Breaking the fast).

 

Making biscuits at home is aimed not only to save money and ensure healthy-baked cookies, but also to enjoy the habit of family members gathering to prepare different types of Eid biscuits.  

 

For that, et highlights in the below lines the recipe for home-made petit four:

 

Ingredients:

 

A teaspoon of vanilla.

 

2 eggs.

 

2 cups of flour.

 

A teaspoon of baking powder.

 

Half a cup of soft sugar.

 

Half a tablespoon of orange peel.

 

Butter cup.

 

Chocolate, jam or nuts for garnish, as desired.

 

 

Steps to make petit four at home:

 

Add the eggs, the orange peel, add a teaspoon of vanilla and add the butter while continuing to mix the ingredients with the electric mixer, to obtain a smooth texture, with the addition of powdered sugar.

 

In another bowl, mix 2 cups of flour with a teaspoon of baking powder, then add this mixture gradually, stirring slowly until the dough becomes smooth, then cover it with cling film for half an hour.

 

Cut the dough into small pieces and shape it as desired, and stack it on a tray lined with butter paper.

 

After implementing the above-mentioned steps, the oven must be turned on at a medium temperature.

 

Put the tray inside the oven, and leave it until the dough gets a golden color.

 

Leave it until the petit four cools down and decorate with chocolate, nuts or favorite types of decoration.
