Rasheed National Museum to hold educational workshops for students, graduates of Faculties of Archeology & Tourism in March, April, May

CAIRO – 2 March 2021: Rasheed National Museum organizes four educational workshops for students and alumni of the faculties of Archeology, and Tourism and Hotels, through distance education using the Microsoft Teams platform.

 

 

Director General of the museum Saeed Rakha explained that these workshops will work to raise tourism and archaeological awareness among students and prepare a new generation of young people with exceptional communication skills and knowledge of heritage and preservation.

 

 

Rakha pointed out that these workshops will be moderated by a group of university professors and specialists in the field of antiquities and tourism, and will be divided into three phases along March, April and May.

 

 

The first phase will be held in coordination with the Faculty of Arts, Department of Archeology and Greek and Roman Studies at Alexandria University, during the period from March 27 to April 11. It will include a workshop on the modern perspective of museums and another on the history of textiles and methods of preservation.

 

 

Meanwhile, the second phase will be held in coordination with the Calligraphy Studies Center, of the Library of Alexandria's Academic Research Sector on April 25 and 26. It will include a workshop on Arabic inscriptions and writings between writing the Noble Qur’an and the geography of Dor el-Darb.

 

 

The third phase will include a workshop on introducing and developing marine archeology that and will be held from May 3 to 5, in coordination with the Central Administration of Underwater Antiquities at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
