Theaters in Egypt to gradually come back to life on July 16 – Press photo

CAIRO – 13 July 2020: Ismail Mukhtar, head of the Theater Art House, said that theatre performances will resume starting July 16.

 

The Theater Art House will present its theatrical performances based on the decision of the Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli to ease the lock down procedures, and resume stage performances with 25 percent of the theater’s total capacity as part of the first phase of the Ministry of Culture’s plan to gradually reopen theatres.

 

Performances will be held on the Open Theater located at the Hanager Arts Center and the Open Theater of Cairo Opera House. Closed theaters affiliated to the Theater Art House will be re-opened gradually during August 2020, as part of the second phase of reopening theaters.

 

Mukhtar stressed the commitment of the Theater Art House to applying the precautionary measures, in order to protect the lives of citizens and theatrical teams, in accordance with the instructions of the Egyptian Ministry of Health.

 

Starting July 16 and until the end of July, the Theater Art House will present the plays “El-Leila El-Kebera” [The Big Night] produced by Cairo’s Putter Theater, “El-Bakheel” [The Stingy Man] produced by the Youth Theater, “Kaenak Tarah”, and “Al Tooq Wal Aswera” [Ring & Bracelet] procuded by Al-Talea Theater.

 

During August, the Theater Art House will present the plays “El-Leila El-Kebera and “Rehlat El-Zaman El-Gamil” procuded by Cairo’s Puppet Theater, “Thel El-Hekayat” produced by Al-Ghad Theater Troupe, “Ahwal Shakhseya” produced by the Youth Theater Troupe and “Al-Sera Al-Helaleya” produced by Al-Talea Theater.
