CAIRO – 22 June 2020: The Egyptian Publishers Association, headed by Saeed Abdo, announced reaching an agreement with Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, and Head of the General Authority for Cultural Palaces Ahmed Awwad, to allocate the purchase budget for the General Authority of Cultural Palaces for Egyptian publishers during the next fiscal year.

This agreement came in light of the continuous communication of the association’s president with all the concerned authorities in the country to support the publishing industry amid the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the publishing industry.

The Egyptian Publishers Association has asked the publishing houses to provide the libraries administration at the General Authority of Cultural Palaces with lists of Egyptian publishers' publications, where a specialized committee will choose from these lists and purchase the publications for the libraries of all branches of cultural palaces across the country.
