Adel Imam's 'Valentino' will not screen in 2019 Drama marathon

CAIRO – 11 January 2019: Renowned actor Adel Imam will not enter next Ramadan’s seriesmarathon despite his signing of the series "Valentino" written by Ayman Bahgat Amar and directed by Rami Imam.
Despite preparations by the director during the last period, in addition to the nomination of a number of actors/actresses to participate in the series, such as veteran actress Dalal Abdel Aziz, the series abruptly got postponed till further notice.
The makers of the series faced numerous obstacles that hindered the filming process, and decorations were not prepared in time, therefore, the director decided to postpone the work and demolish the partially completed decorations in the Egyptian Media Production City, confirming that preparations for the series “Valentino” will be stopped.
Adel Imam will be absent for the first time on the Ramadan television drama after numerous contributions for the past 7 years.
The veteran actor starred in "NajiAtallah’s group" in 2012, continuing his annual presence in the Ramadan marathon in the 2013 series "The fortune teller", “Saheb el sa’ada) (His highness) in 2014, “AfaretAdli Alam”(AdliAlam’s Ghosts) in 2016, and "AwalemKhafeya” (Hidden Worlds) in 2018.
Emam won many awards from many film festivals such as the Best Actor Award in 1995 at Cairo International Film Festival for his film “The Terrorist”, Artistic Achievement Award in 2005 at Dubai International Film Festival, the Golden Star in 2014 at Marrakech International Film Festival and the Golden Tanit in 2016 at the Carthage Film Festival.
