Bassera: Ramadan, Hosny, El Shazly, Adeeb, Kalabesh are the best in 2018

CAIRO - 4 January 2019: The Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research (Baseera) performed poll for best public figures in 2018.

The best actor according to Baseera’s poll was Mohamed Ramadan who garnered 14 percent of the votes, Ahmed Helmy claimed the second rank with 10 percent and Adel Emam claimed the third rank with 8 percent.

The best actress was paired between Rania Youssef and Abla Kamel each achieved 9 percent of the votes.

The best Egyptian series is Kalabesh Part 2 achieving 21percent of the votes while “ Kaaeno Embareh” ( As If It Was Yesterday) claimed the second rank with 9 percent of the votes.

The Best TV program is “ Sabaya’’ ( Girls) gathering 8 percent of the votes while both “ Sahibet el Saada” and “ El Abakera” ( The Geniuses) claimed the second rank with 7 percent of the votes to each.

The Egyptian TV Mona el Shazly was chosen the best female TV presenter with 22 percent, Radwa el Sherbiny claimed the second rank with 15 percent and Essad Younis came in the third rank ( 10 percent).



The best male TV presenter according to Baseera poll is Amr Adeeb (16 percent) then Wael el Ebrashy ( 8 percent).

The best singer in 2018 according to Baseera poll is Tamer Hosny ( 23 percent) then Mohamed Hamaki ( 14 percent).

The best football player is Mohamed Salah ( 84 percent).

The best minister is the Egyptian Minister of Education Tarek Shawky ( 9 percent) then both Minister of Health Hala Zayed and Minister of Supply Aly El Moslehy claimed the second rank with 4 percent each.

Ramadan received the award of greatest talent nationwide three consecutive times. He started his career with small roles in TV series like “The Cindrella" until he had his big chance in Yousry Nasrallah's “Ehky Ya Sharazad” (Tell me, Shahrazad).

He then became the star of movies produced by famous Egyptian producer Ahmed el-Sobky, which made him one of the most famous actors in the Middle East.

Mohamed Ramadan is perhaps the only Egyptian actor to have been praised by the internationally acclaimed late actor Omar Sharif, who stated that he had chosen the young actor to perpetuate his acting career.

Ramadan previously celebrated as four of his songs were among the top Egyptian music videos for the year 2018 in terms of viewership on YouTube.

“Ana Mafia” (I am Mafia), the latest song for Ramadan, has taken all social media platforms by storm, and was the “most searched” on Google, making it the trend of the first days of 2019.

The clip achieved millions of views a few hours after its launch on Ramadan’s official YouTube channel.

Ramadan received appraisal from his fans on the clip, which he presented in a distinctive way.

Hosny is a singer, songwriter, composer and actor. He began his musical career in 2002 when he released his first album. His romantic music has made him "the Star of the Generation", a name given to him by his fans.

Hosny won many awards, such as Best Selling Album in 2002 from the Nile Variety channel, Best Arab Artist at Murex D’Or in 2014 and 2016, and Best Arab Artist at the Middle East Music Awards in 2015. He is also the first Arab artist to receive more than 100 million views on Anghami.

Hosny recently performed a series of concerts in the Middle East, including a concert in Jordan at Arena Theatre and another one in Abu Dhabi.

His latest movie “El-Badla” (The Suit) which was released in Eid El-Adha achieved high revenues that reached more than LE 50 million. He plays in the movie the role of a police officer who finds himself involved in a number of critical situations due to the nature of his job.

“El-Badla” stars Amina Khalil, Maged el-Masry, Dalal Abdel Aziz, Hassan Hosny, and Mai Kassab, among others. The movie is written by Ayman Bahagat Kamar and directed by Mando el-Adl. Hosny announced that “El-Badla” achieved the highest revenues in the history of Egyptian cinema.

Hosny was the first Arab pop singer to perform a concert in Jeddah city in Saudi Arabia on March 30. The concert witnessed the attendance of thousands of Saudis, about 90 percent of whom were women.

Hosny performed on an especially made massive stage where all audience seats were red, white or black, the three colors of Egypt’s flag.

The concert was held under the auspices of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, which stated that Hosny was chosen to perform such a huge concert because of his popularity among all Saudis.

Hosny headed to Los Angeles and had his handprint and footprint permanently engraved on the Forecourt of the Stars at Hollywood's iconic Chinese Theatre in August 2017.

Hosny’s latest song "Eish Beshoqak" amassed millions of views directly after it had been released on his official channel on YouTube.

"Eish Beshoqak" was composed by Mostafa Hassan, distributed by Hany Mahrous and Bilal Sorour and directed by Hadi el-Bagoury.

The video clip of "Eish Beshoqak" shows Hosny meeting with people in the streets and trying to draw a smile on their faces despite of the problems they face daily.

Hosny hit the one-billion views mark on all his songs on his YouTube channel on September 2.

“A billion thanks for the more than 1 billion views on Tamer Hosny’s official YouTube channel,” stated Hosny on his official Facebook page.

Kalabesh Part 2 revolves around the brave police officer Selim El-Ansari, who is now promoted to the supervisor of Aqrab prison. His life turns upside down when his parents are killed and he is seriously wounded by the killer. Rogina and Hala Fakher co-star. The series is written by Baher Dewidar and directed by Peter Mimi. " Kalabesh" is produced by the famed Egyptian producer Tamer Morsi.
